Supporting Our Neighbors in the Wake of Nyack Fires
Earlier this week, two separate fires in Nyack forced more than a dozen families from their homes. Though we are deeply grateful that no lives were lost, the heartache and upheaval these families are facing is immense.
In times like this, community becomes everything. As people of faith and neighbors rooted in love, we are called to respond.
Grace Church is partnering with the Nyack Center to offer care and support. Grace Thrift is welcoming impacted families this week to pick up needed items at no cost, coordinated through Caran Pullen and the Nyack Center. Grace Church has also made a donation of $2,000 from our Social Ministries Fund to the Nyack NAACP GoFundMe campaign.
You can also support this work:
Nyack NAACP GoFundMe
Nicole Hines and the Nyack NAACP have launched a GoFundMe to help families with emergency housing, relocation, and essentials like clothing and toiletries.
The Nyack Center Collection Drive
Kim Cross and the Nyack Center are collecting gift cards and hygiene items (no clothing at this time). You can also donate directly to their relief efforts.
United Way
Stephen Papas and United Way have set up a recovery fund. You can donate online or call 845-358-8929 to contribute clothing, toiletries, or other essentials.
Let’s show up for our neighbors with tenderness, generosity, and the love of Christ in action.
